Principal's Message

This is my 4th year as Principal of River Heights School. There are so many reasons why I am thrilled to be part of the River Heights family. Twenty years ago our school opened with Four Guiding Principles and these principles are evident in how we make decisions and how we function as a school. Our role as teachers and administrators is to support students as they develop themselves as engaged and ethical citizens with an entrepreneurial spirit. Our role is to provide them with opportunities to develop many skills, such as the ability to problem solve, collaborate, and be creative. Our school implements the Tribes agreements to create the foundation for a positive and safe learning community. As students learn in an integrated manner, we implement Kagan cooperative learning structures to teach students how to work and learn together. Students are also involved in an Explore, Create, Reflect (options) Program which runs once a week for 5 weeks and reflects our school motto: Explore, Create, Reflect. Students select which program they want to participate in and they work with students from Kindergarten through grade 6. This provides students and staff an additional opportunity to create positive relationships.

I completed my Bachelor of Education and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership through the University of Lethbridge. I have two daughters who are 11 and 12 years old. We enjoy traveling, camping, and spending time together. One of my favorite things to do is to cheer my girls on at swim meets and at their fast-pitch games.
